Suzanne Vega broke through with her eponymous debut album in 1985 in both Europe and America. The album featured the hits Marlene On The Wall and Left Of Center. She hit even greater heights with her second album Solitude Standing which contained the hits Luka and Tom's Diner. In many ways she opened the way for the rush of female singer-songwriters that followed in the late eighties and early nineties. She continues to have hit albums and to play to packed houses on both sides of the Atlantic.
This DVD captures Suzanne Vega making her second appearance at the Montreux Festival in 2004. Accompanied by a full band (her first appearance was as a duo) she plays many of her most popular tracks including 99.9ºF, Marlene On The Wall, When Heroes Go Down, Left Of Center, Solitude Standing, Blood Makes Noise, Luka and Tom's Diner.

Em Setembro de 1980 Lena D'Água (que vinha dos Beatnicks e dos Dia D'Água), Luís Pedro Fonseca e Zé da Ponte formam o grupo Salada de Frutas.

O seu primeiro disco intitulado "Sem Açúcar" é editado pela empresa discográfica Rossil. Com um som muito próximo do praticado por nomes anglo-saxónicos nos anos 60, mas com uma prensagem muito deficiente. Neste disco é possível escutar faixas como "Shui de Shock" (uma crítica à polícia de choque que carregava sobre os espectadores nos concertos de Rock), "Bolonha" (tema que fala do atentado à bomba na estação de Bolonha-Itália) e "Como Se Eu Fosse Tua" (que se tornaria um sucesso na posterior carreira a solo de Lena D'Água").

Como convidados, neste disco, surgem Guilherme Scarpa Inês e Zé Carrapa; os quais dão um acentuado colorido ao som da banda. Estes dois músicos convidados tornam-se membros efectivos da banda, passado pouco tempo.

Em 1981 o grupo (já com a nova formação) lança o mega-sucesso "Robot" (que venderia para cima de 30.000 exemplares e foi das primeiras canções do emergente "boom" do Rock português a ser caricaturada por Tony Silva.
